Like most good things in the world, it all begins with Fanny...you know, Kim Zook’s grandma. As a kid, Kim arrived early to the bus stop for a breakfast of champions in the form of warm gooey fresh baked cookies. Grandma Fanny even stocked Kim’s lunch pail with more cookies to share with her bus driver and friends. These memories sparked Kim’s love of baking and wild hospitality. Kim, and husband Floyd, have always been willing to scooch over to make more room in their home and at their table for their kids’ friends, neighbors, family, and even international families in need of a temporary home. Now that the kids have grown, Kim’s dream of opening a café, as an extension of the experience she’s cultivated in her home, has reawakened.
There is a “we” in teamwork. At OddBird, we know that our success is rooted in building a team that is united in our passion for hospitality, great food, and excellent coffee.
