OddBird Café | Front of House

OddBird Café is seeking an experienced and hospitality-focused Lead Barista to help lead daily coffee and beverage operations while supporting a positive and efficient café environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about coffee quality, team development, guest experience, and creating consistency behind the bar.

The Lead Barista supports beverage execution, workflow, barista training, and Front of House operations while helping maintain a welcoming and hospitality-driven café culture.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso beverages, coffee, and café drinks according to OddBird Café standards
• Maintain consistency in beverage quality, presentation, and speed of service
• Support daily bar operations and Front of House workflow
• Train, coach, and support baristas during service periods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready bar environment
• Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and beverage organization
• Perform basic espresso machine calibration and troubleshooting
• Support seasonal beverage rollouts and beverage program initiatives
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and hospitality-focused team culture

Qualifications

• 2+ years of barista experience in a quality-focused café preferred
• Experience training or mentoring team members preferred
• Strong espresso preparation and beverage workflow knowledge
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional during high-volume service periods
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods as needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (7–9 hours)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
• Comfortable working around espresso equipment, hot liquids, and café equipment
